About Mythical Dream
Mythical Dream Maine Coon Cattery was established in 2020, as documented on my TICA cattery registration certificate. The cattery is located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
My foundation breeding program currently focuses on producing F5 generations, including both polydactyl and non polydactyl Maine Coons. I have followed this direction since 2024. These carefully selected outcrosses offer strong genetic diversity, reliable structure, and predictable type, which are essential components of a preservation-focused breeding program.
In addition to my breeding work, I serve as a Course Leader through PawPeds, where I instruct both new and established breeders in the G1 and G2 courses. This role supports education within the breeding community and reinforces my commitment to responsible and informed breeding practices.
Health Testing
Health testing is a critical component of responsible preservation breeding. Each pedigree Maine Coon in my program undergoes comprehensive and ongoing screening to ensure genetic integrity, physical soundness, and long-term health. This testing is performed to uphold the standard of care required for ethical breeding and to protect the future of the breed.
The following evaluations are completed on all breeding cats:
Full DNA panel through Optimal Selection
Echocardiogram to screen for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy
Ultrasound screening for Polycystic Kidney Disease
Hip x rays to evaluate for Hip Dysplasia
Patellar luxation x rays
Echocardiograms are repeated yearly to monitor cardiac health.
These measures provide a thorough understanding of each cat’s genetic and physical status and support the production of healthy, well-structured kittens. This level of testing reflects my commitment to responsible breeding and to the preservation of the Maine Coon.
